Working with hand-cut paper encourages simplicity and spontaneity. I love cutting shapes and fitting them together like a puzzle. Texture can be added with ink marks or hand painted cardstock, but I find it’s not always necessary.

Another lovely thing about paper is that it’s portable and doesn’t take up much space. This is super important when you don’t like clutter!

For commercial projects with a limited timeframe, I create digital illustrations in a flat, cut-paper style.
